Mare & Colt Pillowcases

These embroidered pillowcase are available from the Jack Dempsey company.  The name of the product is "Mare & Colt."  The pillowcases come pre-stamped with the design and a list of thread colors and quantities to complete the embroidery.

The lace that I added is comprised of a filet crochet horseshoe design that I created myself, and an edging design available for free by clicking here.

Estas fundas se pueden conseguir de la empresa "Jack Dempsey."  El nombre del producto es "Mare & Colt."  Las fundas vienen con el dibujo listo para bordar, y el producto incluye una lista de hilos y colores para el bordado.

Pansy Delight Pillowcases

These embroidered pillowcase were produced by WonderArt, which may be a Bucilla Company.  The pillowcases are "Pansy Delight Art. #1219."   The pillowcases come pre-stamped with the design and a list of thread colors and quantities to complete the embroidery.  I don't know if these pillowcases are still being produced.

I added two laces to these pillowcases.  The upper lace next to the embroidered pansy design is a free pattern available from Celtwich (click here).  The change that I made to this lace was to elimitate the first row of filet,  and then add a double crochet heading to the edge nearest the embroidery.  Then I added a blue satin ribbon to match the blue ribbon in the embroidery.  In other words, this is a crochet-as-you-go lace, so I simply eliminated the first filet on each motif which made the lace narrower.

The second lace at the edge of the pillow cases is a version of the "Loop and Bar" lace pattern available for free from About.com (click here).

However, when I first downloaded the lace pattern, the picture was backwards as you can see (click here).

For this second lace I did not add a blue satin ribbon, and only added a double crochet header to make it look more finished.

Estas fundas las compré de la empresa "WonderArt" que posiblemente es una empresa que pertenece a la empresa "Bucilla."  Las fundas se llaman "Pansy Delight Art.#1219."  Las fundas vienen con el dibujo listo para bordar y con una lista de hilos y colores.  No sé si las fundas todavia se están produciendo.

Puse dos encajes en las fundas.  El encaje que está más cerca del bordado de flores de pensamiento está disponible gratis en la página de Celtwich (haz clic aquí).  El cambio que hice a este encaje fue elimnar el primer cuadro abierto y luego tejer un encabezamiento de punto alto en la orilla más cerca del bordado.  Luego puse un listón de satín del color azul para reflejar el listón bordado en el diseño.  En otras palabras, el encaje se teje motivo-por-motivo y simplemente hice el encaje mas estrecho.

El segundo encaje está a la orilla de las fundas y es una versión del encaje "Loop and Bart" disponible gratis de About.com (haz clic aquí).

Sin embargo, la primera vez que bajé las instrucciones, la photo parecía estar al revezado como se ve  (haz clic aquí).

Para este segundo encaje no puse el listón de color azul, y solamente tejí un encabezamiento de punto alto para que se mirara mejor el encaje.

Long Stem Rose Pillowcases

These embroidered pillowcase are available from the Jack Dempsey company.  The name of the product is "Long Stem Rose."  The pillowcases come pre-stamped with the design and a list of thread colors and quantities to complete the embroidery.

The lace that I added is Filet Edging S-763, which was originally published in "Priscilla Filet Crochet Coats & Clark's Filet Crochet Book No. 317 1955."  I added a white satin ribbon to the top of the lace because I thought it looked nicer.  When I made these pillowcases, I found the edging pattern for free on the website of vintage crochet patterns by Celtwich.  However, she has removed many of those patterns due to others' downloading them and selling them on the Internet.  Currently there are copies of the booklet and edging pattern avaialable on Etsy and other sites.
